Learning Outcomes
This workshop explores issues relating to safeguarding including notable drivers that have helped shape the UK's approach towards safeguarding adults. It is aimed at anyone who comes into contact with vulnerable adults during the course of their work. The course includes video scenarios to help candidates to think about what they would do in a given situation. The course is designed to meet the Skills for Care Common Induction Standard 6:Principles of Safeguarding in Health and Social Care. On completion of this workshop, learners will be able to identify what abuse, how to recognise abuse, know the legislation and regulations which govern the safeguarding of adults, what to do if they suspect an adult is being abused, develop skills in listening to a victim, how to reduce the likelihood of abuse and understand the referral/Alert process and the multi-agency response to adult abuse.
